I originally submitted this to the Michael Pollan Medium series on psychedelics, but it didn’t make the cut. From what Medium has published in that series (popping up all over my feed, too!), it seems they were looking for magic bullet stories more than anything: how a particular drug cured some long-standing condition.

I’m not a recent user, but certainly no neophyte when it comes to drugs. The ayahuasca and salvia references were news to me, too!
