It could happen. I feel like we’re entering a new Gilded Age, with all of its government greed and corruption, high concentration of wealth in the hands of a very few, and exploitation of the many to enrich those few. I’m grateful to today’s investigative journalists. It was the “muckrakers” of the Gilded Age like Nellie Bly, Ida B. Wells, and Upton Sinclair who brought our country back to a sense of compassion.
