Thanks for pointing out the coda, which was published long after I read the book as a kid. Wow.

The film deserves its abysmal ratings. I remembered the 1966 film adaptation of the book as thought-provoking, and looked forward to the HBO version. Updating it with internet & social media was a great idea, but incompletely executed.

I couldn’t help noticing that at least 90% of the book covers shown in the HBO film were authored by white men. It didn’t sit well.
