While I respect your grief, I’m very disturbed by this piece, which is a hair’s breadth short of a child trafficking advertisement.
I’m a childless woman, but I never tried to adopt. I’m an adoptee, from a family that’s been devastated by poverty and how it’s forced mothers to give up their own flesh and blood to people like you. I’ve also been the auntie who had custody of one of my nieces for a few years. I resent, among other things, that this piece targets kin caretakers as possible sources of inventory — legally available inventory, of course.
